Welcome! This is the web for the descendents of Ray and Marie Droddy of Lucinda, PA, and for all their family and friends.
Ray (Clarence Ray Droddy) grew up in West Virginia, was a truck driver in the 753rd Tank Battalion in World War II, and then worked the pipeline up to Lucinda, PA. He fell in love with the town and he fell in love with Marie Elizabeth Zacherl. He spent most of the rest of his life operating dozer for coal mining companies in Clarion and Venango counties. Marie was a business college graduate who stayed home to raise five delightful children: Mary Anne, Rose Ellen, Joseph Henry, Vincent Arthur, and Dennis James.
Ray never met a stranger. He had a joke or a smile for everyone. He was always ready to go out of his way to help anyone he could.
Marie was the center of our family. Every one of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren wanted her to be proud of them more than they wanted material or financial success. Because of her rock-steady faith, she was the heart of the family.
They taught us the central importance of faith and family, and gave us a loving, encouraging environment in which to grow up to become the wonderful people we are today. Though we are still saddened by our recent loss of our parents, (Marie in 2004, Ray in 2006), we hope we are carrying on their legacy.
Poke around. Hope you enjoy us as much as we enjoy us!
